New Peloton 20 Million Minutes Challenge & 2-for-1 Classes (Alex + Adrian and Camila + Tunde) from May 17-18, 2024 - Peloton Buddy (2024)

Peloton has announced a special 24 hour challenge and numerous two-for-1 classes in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.

Peloton shared the news via Instagram, saying:

Join the challenge. Together, lets make every move count. Are you in? #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth @projecthealthyminds

From 12:30pm ET on May 17 through 12:30pm ET on May 18, Peloton will hold a 24 hour challenge “to reach 20 million minutes of collective movement.” Members can take any class across any modality to count towards the goal.

As part of the initiative Peloton will hold two special two-for-1 classes with numerous instructor pairs that have never taught a class together before. There will be a walk + run and a ride, listed below:

  • 30 min. 20 Million Minutes Challenge Walk + Run – Alex Toussaint & Adrian Williams – 5/18/24 @ 11:30am ET
  • 30 min. 20 Million Minutes Ride – Camila Ramón & Tunde Oyeneyin – 5/18/24 @ 12:00pm ET

Peloton is teaming up with several pro athletes for this, who will be taking classes both from their homes and live from Peloton Studios New York during classes:

Friends of Peloton including New York Jets Linebacker Jermaine Johnson, New York Jets Defensive Tackle Quincy Williams, New York Jets Running Back Breece Hall, New York Giants Linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux and Philadelphia Eagles Cornerback James Bradberry IV will be live at Peloton Studios NY and virtually on the Leaderboard on May 18 to support the cause and the 20 Million Minutes Challenge. Said Myles Garrett: “My love of movement runs deeper than just the physical aspect. Moving my body also helps clear my mind and positively impacts my overall health and mental wellbeing. Supporting Peloton to help drive awareness and destigmatize mental health as we all move our bodies as a community, is something I feel truly passionate about.”

Once the 20 million minute goal is reached, Peloton will “honor our dedication to impact Project Healthy Minds.” The post does not explicitly state what that means; however, it is implied that Peloton will make some kind of financial donation to the non-profit organization, which promotes mental wellness through a free digital marketplace.

A new flash challenge is also in the “upcoming” section of the challenges tab. Members can opt in now via their hardware device, app, or web browser. The official challenge description reads:

Join us from 12:30 PM ET on May 17 to 12:30 PM ET on May 18 in a 24-hour Mental Health Awareness challenge. Our goal? Achieve 20 million minutes of collective movement, culminating in two-for-one classes on both Bike and Tread to help us get over the finish. We hit our mark, and we’ll honor our dedication to impact Project Healthy Minds.

Note that unlike most challenges, there is only one badge tier available that will be awarded for logging any minutes – presumably either with a class or Just Workout – with Peloton through the 24 hour challenge period.

Peloton is hosting a number of initiatives throughout this month in honor of Mental Health Awareness. There is special meditation class challenge currently ongoing, a new class series with Kirra Michel, as well as a Mental Health Awareness Month 2024 virtual community event with Camila Ramón and Adrian Williams.

In addition, members can also likely expect Mental Health Awareness classes throughout the month of May. These classes are sure to be added to the dedicated Mental Health Collection, which contains content across multiple modalities dating back to 2021.
