The Monument Valley View Hotel is hands down THE hotel in Monument Valley with the best and closest views of the red sandstone buttes, hence the name “The View Hotel“.
If you are coming for the views and are into photography, we recommend staying at The View Hotel in Monument Valley. You get to wake up and go to bed to an incredible sunrise and sunset view over the valley and take amazing photos of Monument Valley.
Staying at the hotel is not cheap, but it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we absolutely didn’t regret paying the high rate.

Goulding’s Lodge is the other popular Monument Valley hotel with amazing views of the incredible sandstone buttes. The Monument Valley lodge is located just across the state border on the Utah side.
Iconic Views
The view at Goulding’s Lodge Monument Valley is a bit different than the one from The View Hotel. The lodge is set back more and the buttes are farther away, but therefore you see more of them and from a different angle.
So depending on which view you like better or if The View Hotel is already booked, Gouldings Lodge is another great Monument Valley lodging option to get those iconic views.

There are also lodging options in Utah that are only near the Navajo Tribal Park and therefore a little bit more inexpensive.
Mexican Hat & Bluff
Two main places to stay in Monument Valley, Utah are the small towns of Mexican Hat and Bluff. While there are only a handful of accommodations in Mexican Hat there are a few hotels in Bluff, Utah.
The super small town of Mexican Hat is about half an hour from the Monument Valley Tribal Park Visitor Center.
From the bigger town Bluff, it takes about a 50 minutes drive, but therefore you will find more options for places to stay near Monument Valley there.

Not far away from the hotel, there are cabins at The View Monument Valley that offer equally amazing views of the sandstone rock formations as from the hotel.
Log Cabins
The so-called The View Hotel premium cabins are standalone simple log cabins for 4-5 adults featuring a private porch that overlooks the valley from the edge of the rim.
All The View Monument Valley cabins have a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker, as well as a full bathroom with a shower.
These cabins in Monument Valley are a great place to stay if you have a group of people or a family and are looking for something more secluded and rustic.
Goulding’s Lodge Cabins
Similar to The View cabins, Goulding’s Lodge on the Utah side offers Monument Valley cabins to rent as well.
The Goulding’s lodge cabins are mor upscale and more like stand-alone one-bedroom villas/ apartments featuring a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen with stovetop, indoor sitting area, and a dining table. The cabins have a private patio out front with an outdoor sitting area that boasts amazing views of Monument Valley as well.
