What if I have qualifying Go5G™, Magenta®, ONE, or Simple Choice plan, but I don't want the international roaming capability?

Call 611 from your T-Mobile device to request that international roaming capabilities be blocked on your account. Later, if you’d like to remove this block, call the same number. Please note that only Primary Account Holders may remove the block. Also, Wi-Fi usage will not be blocked, and calls and texts over Wi-Fi may incur additional charges, depending on where you’re calling or texting.

How do I purchase a 512MB, 5GB or 15GB International Pass?

If you’re a primary account holder or authorized user, you can get a pass using your T-Mobile app, logging on to My.T-Mobile.com, or following the link in the welcome text message you receive when you enter a Simple Global country. Also, you can call our Team of Experts® before your trip by dialing 611 on your mobile device. Charges for the pass will show up on your next T-Mobile bill.

Additional users on your account can also purchase their own International Passes. To purchase a pass for immediate use, these users simply log into the T-Mobile app or My.T-Mobile.com account and use a credit card to purchase an International Pass.

With Go5G™ or Magenta®, will I get the same high-speed network experience abroad as I do here in the US?

When you travel to 11 Central European countries (Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, and Greece) you’ll get up to 5GB of high-speed data, then standard speeds at up to approximately 256kbps. When you travel abroad in 215+ countries and destinations you will have unlimited data at up to 256kbps. These speeds are great for browsing the web, e-mail, social media, and other apps like GPS/maps. Some applications, like streaming music or video, typically requires higher-speed data. If you frequently travel internationally and need higher speeds, switch to Go5G Plus™. This plan gives you up to 5G of high-speed data, then unlimited data at up to 256kbps speeds in 215+ countries and destinations.

When you use up 80% of your high-speed data, you’ll receive an SMS notifying you. When you’ve used up all your high-speed data, you’ll receive an SMS explaining options to buy additional passes.

How can I get faster data speeds and unlimited calling when traveling abroad?

If you’re on a qualifying plan, like Go5G™, Magenta®, ONE, Essentials™ or Simple Choice, you can add an International Data Pass to use in 215+ countries and destinations. These passes include increased high-speed data options and unlimited voice calling.

  • 30 Day (15GB) International Data Pass: 15GB of high-speed data at up to LTE speeds and unlimited calling in 215+ countries and destinations, to be used up to 30 days, for $50.

If you use all the high-speed data included in the pass before the designated time is up, you can still use unlimited texting and data based on your current rate plan, or at up to 256kbps for the duration of the pass if your rate plan does not include international data. Unlimited calling will be available for the full designated time as well. If you activate a new pass, then your old pass expires, and your time starts over using the duration of the new pass.

Use your International Pass high-speed data however you’d like. You’re not restricted to a certain amount of data per day.

How do I receive and make calls when roaming internationally, like contacting T-Mobile Customer Care?

To make a call while you’re roaming overseas, whether you’re calling within the country or to a location outside it, simply dial the plus symbol (+), the country code, the city code (if necessary), and the local number. For example, if you’re trying to reach T-Mobile Customer Care when you’re roaming internationally, dial the plus symbol (+), followed by 1-505-998-3793 from your mobile phone. From a landline phone, dial the International Direct Dialing prefix for the country you’re in, followed by 1-505-998-3793. T-Mobile will not charge you for calls to Customer Care, but long distance fees may apply if you call from a landline phone.
