Marlene promises to give him the working truck if he delivers Ellie to the Massachusetts State House. The girl is immune to the Cordyceps infection and may be the key to creating a vaccine.

The team reaches the State House, but all the Fireflies are dead. Tess was bitten during the journey. She decides to blow up the building with infected. Ellie is bitten as well, but she begins to heal.
