The Netherlands will be present in the South American Congress of Precision Agriculture in Brazil. The Kingdom of the Netherlands in Brazil will be present in the sixth edition of the South American Precision Agriculture and Precise Machines – Apsul América, which will be held on September 26th and 27th 2023, through the Dutch Brazilian Embassy, , several Dutch companies and the NBSO Porto Alegre. The event will take place in the city of Não-Me-Toque, one important Dutch immigration area in Brazil. During the congress lectures about the latest achievements in precision agriculture will be presented. The Netherlands are specialized in precision agriculture and rank the second place in world food exports. According to the ambassador of the Netherlands in Brazil, André Driessen, the knowledge and expertise developed along the years in the country can contribute with Brazil in this sector, including logistics.“Brazil still loses between 30% or 40% of the fruit and vegetable crops. So, we need to work in order to improve production and distribution quality, and also to introduce technologies for more organic products and less use of fertilizers. It is also necessary to improve the connection with the marketing chain, ensuring that the harvest reaches the consumer in an excellent state through good logistics. The Netherlands has know-how in these issues, precision technology and experience of how to do that efficiently”, said André Driessen, in an interview with AgroMais. 🔷 Read more:https://lnkd.in/ddkHCaJ6https://lnkd.in/dnismvUc#agriculturetechnology #technology #experience #research #event #network #logistics #foodandagriculture #university #foodtechnology TEODORA SOUILLJEE LÜTKEMEYER, Paul Van de Logt, Ministerie van Landbouw, Natuur en Voedselkwaliteit, Ramon Gerrits, Frederica Heering, Corné Kempenaar, Ard Nieuwenhuizen, Eva de Jonge, Landbouw Attaché Netwerk, Sindicato Rural de Não-Me-Toque, Richard Posma, Lucila Almeida, NBSO Network, Barbara Staals, Jisse Kranen, Nynke Schaap, Wendy Wanner, Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), Chris Baaré, Tjerk Opmeer.

I am Macaulay Chiomah Feyikemi. I'm a fresh graduate of Animal production from Olabisi Onabanjo University College of Agricultural Sciences, Ayetoro,Ogun State. Due to my study in the University I developed interest in all areas of agriculture and always look out for opportunities on agriculture. In my quest for more knowledge on agriculture, I came across the Agric-Tech Lab Institute Program from a Facebook friend and i seized the opportunity to apply. Upon registration I had a slight issue with the payment and the community manager in person of Mr. Olugbenga Olayinka came to my rescue. I've gained more insights on Social Media Marketing for Agriculture most especially about Key Performance Indicator which helps you to know your target which is either to make profit or to have a large number of followers.I learnt about Data Analysis for Agriculture which enables you to optimize farming practices and reduce costs. I won't cease to talk about the interactive session on how Agric Tech solution can help farmers to improve access to markets and increase their income through Clarity and Partnership. We dived into Soiless Technology itself which helps to correct and eradicate food poisoning and contamination. We also received insights about Internet of Things in Agriculture. We adopt technology because it gives a high demand from exponential growth; it brings about high productivity and it also brings high profitability. The module that resonates me the more is Soiless Technology because it has a lot of advantages. After the bootcamp, I look forward to more opportunities on Soiless Technology.I want to appreciate MyFarmBase for this great opportunity which I do not take for granted and to my fellow members thanks for making this journey a success.I'm using this medium to implore you to join the next cohort through the link below: https://lnkd.in/di_udub4Macaulay Chiomah Feyikemi| MFB/AG.TECH11/06#Myfarmbaseexperience#Agric-techExperiencesofarMyFarmbase Africa

Alhamdulillah,On May 13, 2023 (Saturday), the Forum Antarabangsa Mahasiswa Tani: Profesi Kampung Pertanian Bukan Pilihan at Dewan Kenyalang, Kolej Sultan Alaeddin Suleiman Shah (KOSASS), and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).In this forum, we have invited a well-known and active panel in the world of agriculture and agricultural technology to give exposure to agricultural careers and change the public's perspective on the world of agriculture.Among the invited panels are:1) Prof. Associate Dr. Siti Zaharah Sakimin, Director of UPM Putra Agricultural Centre2) Mr. Muhammad Nazrul Nazaruddin, Founder of Bajanas3) Syed Salleh Syed Sulaiman, Manager of Sulaiman PlantationThis forum was also joined by Indonesian students through Yayasan Formasita, who agreed to collaborate with us virtually through the Zoom platform led by Mr. Andi Jayadi, Head of the Yayasan Formasita. This forum is my own initiative as President of the PGTK Club to give an injection of enthusiasm to students and change their perceptions about agriculture. We do not want to hear the problems of students who are afraid to enter the field of agriculture because of the underpaid salary, dirty work, "busuk", and various other bad stories about agriculture. We bring you a great panel that has broken down misconceptions about agriculture. Agriculture is not what it used to be; everything is using technology. Work is getting easier, not too dirty, and able to generate a high income.I hope that this forum can change people's minds about the factthat agriculture is not a subordinate profession. Without agriculture, people will die of starvation.

Are you interested in pursuing a PhD linked to sustainable food production? 🎓 Don't miss this opportunity to work alongside Australia's horticulture industry to better understand the opportunities and challenges of implementing biosecurity measures on-farm. Australia's national biosecurity system plays a critical role in protecting our primary industries, communities and environment from the world's most invasive pest and disease threats, and maintaining access to export markets. However, there are many challenges to implementing effective biosecurity practices on-farms, or reporting potential threats. This project will focus on vegetable and melon production systems and aim to quantify the everyday costs and benefits of on-farm biosecurity measures. In addition to earning a PhD, you will also grow your skills in applying economics and social science to solve real-world problems, connect and interact with researchers from a broad discipline base, and collaborate with industry and growers to influence positive change. For more information contact La Trobe University's Dr Tim Clune at t.clune@latrobe.edu.au. This project is a partnership between La Trobe Business School, La Trobe University, La Trobe School of Agriculture, Biomedicine and Environment and RMCG. It is funded by Hort Innovation using the vegetable and melon research and development levies and contributions from the Australian Government. The project comes with an annual stipend of $35,000 per annum for 3.5 years. The primary base for the project is the Albury, NSW campus but has flexibility in working within the La Trobe University system. Feel free to share with your networks!
